Why you loose your voice and how to correct it

Reasons for Losing Your Voice (and Tips for Getting It Back)

Knowing the things that actually cause us to loose our voice will actually help us in improving our singing voice.

We all know how important it is to singing with ease , and for many of us it all starts with our voice.

But, then there's losing your voice, which can make your  singing  poorly rated and you will feel down that it can never get better but that's not really true majority of bad voice issues  can be corrected and am happy to be sharing this with you so that you will can be happy again!.

But note "frequent voice loss or sustained hoarseness can be a sign of a more serious medical condition."

What can make you loose your voice (Hoarseness)

1.)One of the reasons is due to shouting

When ever we strain our voice to be heard we end up damaging the voice. This is one of the things that can cause alot of damages to the voice. When ever we talk and people can't hear you try to us a microphone to avoid straining your voice. Be very conscious of the type of sounds  you produce and the level of stress on your larynx when talking and singing if you experience pains in this process  then you are doing something wrong (straining the voice).

2.) Singing when ill e.g prolonged cough:

I know even when some of us get ill we still feel like singing but that's not advisable because you will be struggling to pitch out sounds and that can affect your vocal folds. Sing after your illness is gone,Then after illness if you experience some changes in your singing you can get back your voice with effective and consistent vocal  exercises.

3.) Excess use of voice.

Most people don't know the is a limit to how long you should use the voice, I know most time it not always our fault we might be under a Coach or the is a competition coming up but alway taking 30mins to 15mins  break to every 45mins or 30 mins of singing. If you actually sing and It not up to 5min and you start experiencing pains it means your straining your larynx to sing. Learn to sing without straining your voice. I can't even recall the last time I experience pains after singing but I always get tire of singing.Getting rest for some times before continuing your singing helps alot.

4.) Type of food we eat

This one is very important for the can actually makes all your voice training exercises not to be effective and makes you give up in singing, avoid food that contains oil,dry out your throat etc. E.g for nigerians we have banga soup, tea(chocolate), etc. The are alot of them all this food are very good for the body but it can also affect our voice. Drink more of water.

For more on food you are to eat and not to eat you chat me up in what'sapp.

5 ) Laryngitis

laryngitis occurs when your vocal cords become inflamed, "This inflammation, or swelling, prevents your vocal cords from vibrating properly — which can lead to hoarseness and, ultimately, voice loss." Most solution to this case is rest and allow the body to heal on it own if it very serious you visit a doctor.

7.) Maturity

Age can also causes one to have bad voice for instance young growing up guys I remember when my voice started being so deep I had to do more of the vocal exercises  to get it corrected. When I say vocal exercises I mean advance ones most of them I developed the exercise by myself I was surprised to see some of them online the minor ones. So  vocal exercises helps to shapen your voice no matter how bad it is it will get better if you are consistent.

So, do people who lose their voice more frequently need to be concerned?

Frequent voice loss usually indicates an underlying vocal cord abnormality,So the concern is to determine why you're losing your voice so frequently. If you're losing your voice regularly or if your voice doesn't return to normal after a few weeks, it's time to consult a laryngologist (ENT voice specialist). He or she can investigate whether it's a sign of a larger, more serious medical issue."

Tips for getting your voice back

If you do lose your voice, you might be wondering how to get it back — quickly.

1)The best thing you can do if you've lost your voice is to give it a rest

Your vocal cords contact eachother every time you speak, so limiting speaking also limits the chance of further aggravating the vocal cords.

2.)Focusing on what's called your vocal hygiene, which can include:

a)Staying properly hydrated

b)Using a personal humidifier

c)Avoiding irritants, such as smoking, excessive caffeine or foods that affects the voice.

3.)It's second nature to listen to other people when they're speaking, but we sometimes forget to listen to ourselves

I actually have an exercise that can enable you to practice listening to yourself, preventing voice loss really begins with listening to yourself. If you feel like you're straining to speak, rest and give your vocal cords time to heal.
